There are two types of dental handpieces commonly used in dental offices: air-driven and electric. Electric handpieces have been rapidly replacing the traditional pneumatic or air-driven handpieces as they have been proven to provide superior performance. Electric handpieces offer smooth, constant torque without variations in speed like traditional air-driven ones do. Due to this consistency in performance, these electric tools have converted many practitioners over to using electric handpieces. Additionally, the electric version is quieter, providing a better and more pleasant experience for our patients.
